The expanded program gives both entry-level and more advanced students the expertise they need to succeed in a wide range of careers.

    The Information Systems Program is a competency-based program designed to provide for the development of knowledge and skills required to design, administer, and support Information Technology for an organization.

    The curriculum is comprised of four unique Information Systems tracks rooted on a general education foundation and business management courses. Each of the core tracks is designed to leverage academic relationships from industry recognized vendors including: CompTIA, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, VMware.

    The aggregate result provides an in-depth exploration of Information Systems administration and support, general education and business management. Instruction consists of lecture reinforced by laboratory projects that are designed to deliver real world simulation to the core competencies required for employment in the Information Technology Industry.

    The Information Systems Program is designed to prepare students for a career in the Information Technology Industry as: Entry Level IT Managers, Enterprise Support Technicians, Network Technicians, Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Network Security Specialist.

    Students successfully completing the program would obtain a strong background in management information systems and have opportunities to obtain industry certification in the following core sub-disciplines: computer hardware and software, network administration, systems administration, database administration, email administration, information security, and virtualization technologies.

     

  • Bachelors of Science in Information Systems: Concentration in Cyber Security

    The Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Cyber Security is a competency-based program. The concentration in cyber security prepares students to be leaders in the protection of data assets. The curriculum focuses on the techniques, policies, operation procedures, and technologies that secure and defend the availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and nonrepudiation of information and information systems, in local as well as more broadly based domains. The concentration helps prepare students for careers as information systems security professionals, senior system managers, and system administrators responsible for information systems ad security of those systems.

    Information security analysts plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems. Their responsibilities are continually expanding as the number of cyber-attacks increase. Information security analysts typically do the following: • Research the latest information technology security trends • Monitor their organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs • Help plan and carry out an organization’s way of handling security • Develop security standards and best practices for their organization • Install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information • Recommend security enhancements to management or senior Information Technology staff • Help computer users when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures  

  • Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology – MICROSOFT

    The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology – Microsoft is a competency-based program designed to provide for the development of knowledge and skills required to design, administer, and support Information Technology for an organization. The use of the Microsoft IT Academy curriculum provides students with an in-depth education in the latest Microsoft Operating System technologies; it is designed to help the students learn the Information Technology skills they need to succeed in the ever changing world of Information Systems.  Networking, virtualization, and information security technologies with a concentration in Microsoft will help the student obtain a well-rounded education in Information Technology.

    The aggregate result provides an in-depth exploration of Information Systems administration. Instruction consists of lecture reinforced by laboratory projects that are designed to deliver real world simulation to the core competencies required for employment in the Information Technology Industry.
