The School of Allied Health at Hallmark College offers career training in:


Medical Assistants

Medical Assistants are trained to work in primarily outpatient settings such as doctors' offices, clinics, labs, and more. They handle the flow of the office, from appointment setting, check in, assisting the physician with examinations, checking out, and many other facets of the medical office; and there are a wide variety of areas needing these graduates. This is an area of expected growth as more and more people are able to access healthcare. 

The School of Allied Health at Hallmark College offers the following:

Associate of Applied Science Degree – Medical Assistant, a concentrated 12 month course that teaches the clinical and medical business foci as well as general education and additional management and computer application classes.

Certificate Program - Medical Assistant Certificate, a focused seven month course that includes the core college courses as well as hands-on program specific courses. 

 

Healthcare Information Specialist (Billing and Coding)

Healthcare Information Specialists handle medical billing and coding and work to expedite the business part of medicine. They work with the clinical teams to capture information about the clinic visit, and then work to post the billing, prepare insurance claims with needed information, verify that the codes assigned are supported by required documentation, and then track payments received from the insurance company and patients. They often work with patients to explain the insurance and billing processes and help them to set up payment plans. This is also an area of expected growth.

The School of Allied Health at Hallmark College offers the following:

Certificate Program - Healthcare Information Specialist - Medical Billing and Coding Certificate, is a focused seven month course that includes the core college courses as well as hands-on program-specific courses. All allied health certificates and degrees have a 160-hour externship/practicum at a clinical or medical business office site.

 

 

Following graduation, Hallmark College's Graduate Services will work with graduates for job placement.
